    Lianne Herbert is a published writer, poet, playwright, journalist, and screenwriter.

    Lianne has lived experiences as a Black Deaf woman. Lianne has also experienced depression and psychosis several times which she has written about in her published work.

    Lianne had a late diagnosis of combined ADHD in 2023. Lianne welcomes her neurodivergence and can see how that has an impact on her life.

    Lianne has written for the now defunct gal-dem publication about deafness and mental health.

    There are many articles for The Limping Chicken website ran by Charlie Swinbourne with an occurring theme of deafness and how Lianne navigates the hearing world.

    Lianne has had several short plays and screenwriting performed by Paula Garfield’s Deafinitely Theatre. One called  I Still Blame Myself to which viewers discretion is advised.

    Lianne has several poems published by Peepal Tree Press’s Weighted Words book. They range from the topics of deafness, birth, and racism.

    Lianne has poems published in the book called What Meets the EyeThe Deaf Perspective by Arachne Press. These poems focus on British Sign Language and suicidal ideation.

    Lianne also has two monologues in the Hear Me Now: Volume Two Audition Monologues for Actors of Colour which doesn’t focus on deafness but rather a Black woman finding her way in the world as a love interest and single mother.

    Lianne is writing a children’s book on deafness.

    Lianne currently seeks representation.
